Family Pharmacies Donates $5,000 for Medical Clinic in Haiti

Worcester, MA, October 26, 2007--- Hamid Mohaghegh, owner of Family Pharmacies, has donated $5,000 to support building a medical clinic in Les Cayes, Haiti. The project planned by Forward in Health (FIH), a nonprofit organization based in Gardner, MA, is committed to improving health conditions for people in Les Cayes, Haiti. The announcement is made by Dr. John Mulqueen, president of FIH.

Mr. Mohaghegh noted that he is impressed with Dr. John Mulqueen’s work on behalf of the people in Haiti through Forward in Health. “For over six years, Dr. Mulqueen, his wife Paula, and other medical professionals and volunteers have visited Les Cayes to provide medical care,” Mr. Mohaghegh stated, “But, the need is greater than what can be provided during yearly visits so FIH began to look at a more permanent solution- the medical clinic. We also support the work of FIH by donating medicine and supplies and we are pleased to take part in building the clinic.”

According to Dr. Mulqueen, the clinic’s pharmacy will be named after Family Pharmacies. Ground breaking for the clinic is slated for November. “We are grateful to Mr. Mohaghegh and other businesses who have pledged so far,” stated Mulqueen.

Naming rights are still available through donations of $5,000 each.
